Shared Note: - 29 April 1749." Indenture between Thomas Ballard Smith and David Mills...Churchwardens of Fredricksville Parish, Louisa County, and John MacCarley of same, Carpenter. By order of Louisa Court do bind George Haton a poor boy and with consent of his mother Mary Haton which boy was 5 years old last May until age 21 years. MacCarley shall teach said George the carpenter's trade and give such schooling as the Law directs and provide good wholesome lodging, clothing and diet and at the expiration of his servitude such goods as the law directs for freedom dues to Imported servants. /w/ John Starke, Richd R (his mark) Brooks."
